Kanye West and adidas have been working together longer than you think. According to Kanye associate Ibn Jasper, Mr. West was the design mind behind the adidas ZX 850. The story goes that Kanye designed the sneakers for Reebok and they were later repurposed for the adidas David Beckham line when the Three Stripes acquired Reebok. Also interesting is that Jasper claims that West whipped them up back in 2006 – which is rather strange considering the 850 didn’t debut till last year.
