There’s no need to look much farther than Wale when searching for the most legit sneakerheads in the hip-hop scene. In fact, Wale was a sneakerhead long before he became a household name in music, and his “sample connect” was ridiculously strong (he’s been spotted in shoes long before actual releases). The DMV-based personality has a collaboration with Asics and retailer VILLA in the works, and the first teasers seen here reveal a “Bottle Rocket” theme, which is a clear play on the July 4th and the tradition of exploding fireworks.
