Though it was born in sunny California streets and emptied-out pools, skateboarding has since grown into a sport that’s loved worldwide and has set down deep roots in locales as far off as Japan. And when it comes to Japanese skate brands, one of the names that first comes to mind is unquestionably Evisen — a company launched in 2011 by founder Katsumi Minami that boasts some of Japan’s most elite skaters as its team members. Now, Eveisen has linked up with the Trefoil Brand for a special take on the adidas 3MC that keeps functionality first, but adds plenty of fun details as well. The shoe’s upper is constructed of a supple-yet-durable white leather, while accents arrive via white and red trim around the midfoot’s Three Stripe graphic. Further pops of color appear on the heel/around the tongue, and a special logo inspired by sake — the Evisen team’s favorite drink — labels adds a cheeky pop of branded flair. The shoes are also accompanied by a full set of apparel, featuring pieces like track jackets and long-sleeve tees. Enjoy a look at the collection below, and look for these new skate kicks to drop on adidas.com and at adidas Skateboarding stockists January 17th for a highly reasonable price of $70 USD.
