Ensuring that what was once timeless stays it, One Block Down goes straight to the lab with their own Converse Chuck 70 collaboration, taking classics by way of the Parchment and standard black colorway and giving it a makeover minimal yet structurally transformative. Dubbed the “Protect Your Icon” pack, the entire two-part set is effectively a tribute to the silhouette in and of itself with a hand brushed resin added on to guide both offerings well into the future. Wear and tear, harsh weather conditions, and even an attack from hostile animals are all held at bay thanks to the retailer’s core approach, one that sports utility in spades over loud, patchwork creations or wild plays on color. Instead, the aesthetics are solely driven by the originals themselves, only deviating due to the viscous substance which is only apparent from the sole unit up to a certain point along the canvas upper.
