The Nike Air Max 2090 is inherently futuristic. As its name suggests, the model was designed with the transportation and color palette of the year 2090 in mind. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the silhouette is the latest to appear with the eco-friendly Crater Foam material introduced by the Nike Space Hippie line.
Similar to other proposals that have emerged with the recycled matter, this version of the Air Max 90-inspired design features a predominantly muted colorway. Shades of white take over the sneaker’s mixed-materials upper, with visible taping around the tongue indulging in a grey arrangement. Lateral profile accents – swoosh, stitching, “AIR” branding – deliver some personality into the mix with their vibrant orange hue. Underfoot, the Air Max 200-like unit boasts a lighter shade of the citrus shade, complementing its colorless EVA foam counterpart well. The waffle-patterns outsole, however, maintains its grey and speckled composition, which plays into the Swoosh’s “Space Junk” concept.
A release date is still unknown, but this Air Max 2090 Crater is likely to quietly launch on Nike.com in the coming weeks. Until then, enjoy official images of the pair here below.
