As the end of 2020 fast approaches, several of the most popular sneaker silhouettes have begun appearing in festive attire. Now joining odes to Halloween are green and red-laden outfits for the most wonderful time of the year: Christmas. One of the earliest-seen proposals from NIKE, Inc. arrives in the form of a kid’s-exclusive Nike Air Max 90.
Unlike a recently-seen Blazer Mid, the forthcoming running model sets the stage for its jolly accents with an off-white leather skeleton. The tongue and underlays at the toe and heel indulge in a pattern of snowflakes reminiscent of sweaters worn to the office for end-of-year celebrations. Adjacent TPU eye-stays borrow the detail’s green, but tamper with its shade. Elsewhere, branding on the tongue, profile swooshes and Air Max units underfoot complement the pine tree-like hues with their rich scarlet makeup (perhaps a nod to Santa Claus). EVA foam midsoles borrow the angelic palette of the fur that lines the underside of the tongue and collar; outsoles forgo the snow globe graphics found on the sockliner, but sport the same color duo.
