The Nike Air Max Plus Covered In Recycled Materials And Regrind Is Available Now

The Nike Air Max Plus Covered In Recycled Materials And Regrind Is Available Now

Following up on their promise of sustainability as broached by their “Move to Zero” initiative, Nike has been experimenting with waste products to create upcycled textiles and other materials to be incorporated into their footwear. A testament to their efforts is a newly-released Air Max Plus that goes green in both color and material composition.

The felt-like look of the black uppers are thanks to a fabric that consists of 67% recycled content—also seen on a handful of other sustainable releases, such as the Air Force 1. While the familiar TPU wavy design lines are present, contrast zig-zag stitches in grey and Electric Green trace the mudguard for an updated look on the 1998 model. 15% of the translucent rubber outsole is composed of recycled Nike Grind, giving it a speckled look that adds an additional texture to the mix.

The Air Max Plus is available now at Nike.com for $170.

And if you’re looking for more Air Maxes, check out the upcoming Air Max 95 NDSTRKT.
