With the likes of the ZX8000 “Frozen Lemonade” and the Simpsons-inspired ZX 10.000C, adidas has continuously set the (Torsion) bar for its A-ZX series, while also maintaining a curation of creative iterations. Next up is the brand-new ZX 9000 YCTN to represent the letter Y—a silhouette that embraces premium materials and design motifs drawn from the aesthetics of moccasins.
Uppers are covered in black suede, with black and cream leather and nubuck applied to the side stripes and other elements. The contrast-stitch detailing used on the toe alternates, with one shoe repeating a Z-stitch while the other uses X-stitches to celebrate both the footwear series and moccasin styles. Contrast stitching is also found wrapped around the heel. As for the sole unit, the midsole is colored in a complementing cream shade, while the heritage Torsion bar system is identified on the outsole. A removable fringe collar completes the design for a modern, athletic take on a classic footwear style.
The ZX 9000 YCTN can be yours when they drop at adidas.com on February 5th, for $160.
In other news under the Three Stripes umbrella, floral patches have landed on the Melting Sadness Superstar.
