Michael Le In the years since the adidas NMD R1 reigned supreme, sneaker culture has changed dramatically. But even still, the silhouette retains a small cult following, many still flocking to colorways such as this upcoming “Ash Pearl.”
Certainly one of the NMD R1’s better showings, the “Ash Pearl” achieves a full tonal look, one that fits both the Spring and Fall season. Hits of the titular shade are worked into all of the upper’s fixtures, such as the woven exterior, the BOOST sole, laces, etc. Only the branding is provided some contrast, its tongue, lateral, and heel type clad in white neutrals as is typical.
