Jovani Hernandez The New Balance 57/40 hasn’t been on the market for long, but it’s quickly building an impressive roster of collaborators. Hong Kong’s DAHOOD HUB has recently unveiled a full-look at five colorways they’ve produced for a March 20th launch.
Keeping the new model’s 1980s and ’90s design language intact, the Hong Kong-based institution has outfitted the New Balance 574-inspired silhouette with premium materials and eye-catching color-blocking. Smooth leather overlays atop perforated pig suede bases boast disparate and complementary color schemes alike, with mismatched blues and a women’s-exclusive greyscale checking off those respective boxes. As with various styles of the New Balance 327, DAHOOD HUB’s capsule delivers retro-appropriate flair in a package modernized for the new decade. The vibrancy of American comic strips and versatility of American outdoors-apparel shine through bright yellow and khaki, while a mix of bold and muted arrangements land in women’s sizing. Beyond compelling color-blocking, however, New Balance‘s latest collaboration stands out via its action figure-style packaging, further nodding to the past and adding another layer of exclusivity to the release.
