The Iconic adidas Stan Smith Goes From Tennis Court To Golf Course With New, Sustainable Update

The Iconic adidas Stan Smith Goes From Tennis Court To Golf Course With New, Sustainable Update

Stan Smith has joked about how he’s gone from tennis player to tennis shoe thanks to the worldwide popularity of his namesake adidas sneaker. On April 7th, the once-renowned American athlete will add “golf cleat” to the list as the Stan Smith Golf is set to debut in limited quantity.

The sneaker’s first-ever modification for the green, the forthcoming pair’s shape resembles that of the 1960s tennis shoe. Instead of leather, however, the Stan Smith Golf features PRIMEGREEN materials all-throughout the upper. As seen on the German sportswear manufacturer’s collaboration with Prada, the latest take on adidas Originals‘ classic silhouette indulges in a recycled makeup without sacrificing high-performance benefits. Fittingly, the textile build is dipped in a rich green tone and arrangement in opposite fashion to the original Stan Smith (the heel panel is left white). The midsole is left untouched, but the tread is reimagined for the golf course with their raised surface. As another nod to the sport, a removable kilt and trefoil-branding pendant are included with the shoe.

The Stan Smith Golf debuts on April 7th with a $140 USD price tag and in limited quantity. Enjoy images of the shoes here below while you wait to try your luck via adidas.com.
