Over the past two years, New Balance has solidified itself as a key contender for “Collaboration of the Year,” and 2021 hasn’t been any different. For its latest joint-effort, the Boston-based brand has traveled to Los Angeles’ South Central area to tap Bricks & Wood for assistance on a New Balance 57/40.
Known for its high-quality beanies and unapologetic representing of South Central, Bricks & Wood has brought its “Rarewear” approach to one of NB’s newest silhouettes. Made to accompany co-branded t-shirts and tote bags, the collaborative 57/40 indulges in a bevy of lush greens, which take over everything from the premium pig suede to the wavy midsole accent. Profile “N” logos maintain an understated arrangement that allows the aforementioned components to revel in the spotlight, although equally-grey detailing across the forefoot and heel feature a reflective finish. Underfoot, sole units nod to the New Balance 574‘s debut year (1988) via a partially-yellowed midsole and strategically-grooved, red outsole.

Elsewhere under the North American brand’s umbrella, the New Balance 550 has emerged in a handful of summer-ready styles.
