With international travel becoming much more commonplace than it was 10 months ago, institutions within the sneaker space have decided to cross borders to explore the ideas, spaces and things offered by neighbors close and far. Offspring and adidas are two such brands that have decided to add stamps to their figurative passports with a ZX 9000 serving as a sequel to 2019’s “LDN To LA” pack.
A two-pair capsule, the joint-effort takes inspiration from both international destinations’ raw, industrious architecture. The adidas Originals classic, then, indulges in a handful of exposed, unrefined detailing – including contrasting, serrated stitching, non-sensical suede swathe placement and partially-colored profile 3-Stripes. Inverted labels on the tongue also contribute to the pair’s thematic arrangement, while turquoise hits across the shoe harken back to the original ZX 9000. The most iconic features on the Torsion-backed runner, however, is the River Thames and London coordinates embroidered at the heel. Furthermore, the sock-liners include a map graphic of Offspring’s London store locations, while hits of red and blue nod to England’s flag.
Enjoy detailed imagery of the collaborative pair ahead, as you wait for the shoes to launch via offspring.co.uk on Saturday, July 24th. The Los Angeles-dedicated pair is expected shortly thereafter.
