Michael Le The first week of the Tokyo Olympics is now officially over — and as we embark on the next set of sports, the sneakers have largely grown quiet. After a quick burst of releases, brands the industry over have started to slow, offering only a small amount of standouts.
As Nike SB comes down from a world stage high, Nike ACG is taking the spotlight, dropping not just one but three highly-geared pairs: the Air Nasu 2 and two iterations of the Mountain Fly Low. On the same day, adidas Yeezy is coming out of hibernation, presenting their beloved Foam Runner in bright “Ochre.” Then, the Dunk Low Disrupt dresses up in “Barely Rose” on Tuesday, the Jordan Zion 1 dons a Pelicans uniform on Wednesday, and Bandier prepares a New Balance 327 and 57/40 on Thursday.
Come Friday, things get a bit more exciting. Levi’s and New Balance are finally reuniting, the two excited to deliver their denim-clad 992. Sustainability has its time to shine as well with the upcoming Jordan 1 Mid Crater. And finally, in celebration of 20-year-anniversary, adidas is commemorating N.E.R.D. and their debut album with the NMD Hu.
