COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS Prepares A Collaborative Nike Air Max 97 For AW22

COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS Prepares A Collaborative Nike Air Max 97 For AW22

The universe that is COMME des GARÇONS is vast, every diffusion label replete with its own exclusive partnerships. And while each deserves attention, few — not CdG SHIRT, BLACK, nor PLAY — have rivaled HOMME PLUS, whose Nike collaborations steal the show near every season. For Autumn/Winter ’22, this continues to be the case, as we’re finally able to see the iconic Air Max 97 through Rei Kawakubo’s inimitable lens.

What the brand has created is surprisingly understated, far more than even the Air Sunder Max releasing for SS22. And unlike the Air Max 95 from 2020, these offer seemingly zero deconstruction; instead, the build is clean, with not even so much as a frayed edge. The choice of leather is what’s really on display, its distressed surface easy to confuse for suede at a quick glance. In both the grey and black colorway, the patina is quite striking, especially against the more refined mesh underneath.

For a closer look at the two pairs, check out the runway photos below. As these have unveiled alongside the AW22 collection, we won’t be seeing a release until later this year.

In other news, the Air Jordan 3 Fire Red will also be releasing in the Fall.
