New Balance Signs Jack Harlow; Rapper To Debut New Performance Shoe At Celebrity All-Star Game

Ahead of dropping his new single, “Nail Tech,” Jack Harlow has signed with New Balance as the North American brand’s latest ambassador.

Over the last three years, the Louisville, Kentucky-native has expressed his love for the Boston-based company, rocking pairs like the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v3 at Chicago’s Lollapalooza 2021. In interviews, the Private Garden-frontman has shared that his interest in “N”-branded footwear began in high school, as he wanted to go against the grain. While initially ridiculed, Harlow became known among his peers as “the New Balance guy,” making his signing with the brand as an ambassador a full-circle moment.

No word has been disclosed regarding a potential signature sneaker for the rapper à la Jaden Smith, but the 23-year-old is set to debut a brand new performance-basketball shoe from New Balance during the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, February 18th. It’s unlikely that Mr. Harlow gets first-dibs at the KAWHI II, though he may help the New England-based institution launch a new version of the TWO WXY, a silhouette originally set to be promoted by Jamal Murray. Additionally, it’s possible the company has decided to capitalize on the success of its New Balance 550 by infusing heritage basketball shoe design with modern-day FullCell foam and other materials. Whatever it is that Harlow debuts, all eyes will be on him.
