Jovani Hernandez The Nike Air More Uptempo has been widely lauded as one of the best basketball sneakers of all-time. And while it dominated hardwood courts everywhere throughout the 1990s, the Scottie Pippen-associated silhouette has become a go-to option off-the-court since. Recently, the sneaker emerged in a clean, white-colored ensemble accompanied by multi-color accents.
Reminiscent of recent pairs of the Air Zoom G.T. Cut and Air Zoom G.T. Run, the upcoming retro hoops model features a “colorless” leather build throughout the upper, which is laden with randomly-placed crosses. “AIR”-branding and other details across the shoes’ top-half deviate from the plain white-colored look with stark black contrast, but they pale in comparison to the vibrant red, green and blue introduced into the mix via the plastic eyelets found along the tongue. A similar multi-colored finish lands all across the midsole, with Air Max bubbles also opting for bold crimson flair. Lastly, sock-liners are covered in the same color scheme as the bulk of the Air More Uptempo, while also donning a series of seemingly-hand drawn illustrations for a playful take on the made-for-basketball design.
No firm Nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change as the second half of 2022 inches closer. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
