As the New Balance 550 continues to grow in popularity, the 1989 design keeps harkening back to its debut era by indulging in simple, but fresh two-tone colorways.
For its latest ensemble, the Steven Smith-created sneaker has chosen yet another white and grey outfit. Unlike Aimé Leon Dore‘s collaboration from 2020 (or even its recent 650 release), the newly-surfaced pair features a darker grey hue across more of its “real estate”: textile visible around the heel, as well as detailing on the tongue, profile and lateral quarter panel, boast the titular contrasting color. The made-for-basketball tread underfoot opts for two shades of grey, while midsoles favor a pristine “colorless” look that differs from ALD’s “aged” propositions.
Enjoy product images of the New Balance pair ahead, and anticipate a global launch throughout May (NewBalance.com release details are to be determined).
