With the 35th anniversary of Nike Air Max technology, the brand has reissued some of its most popular silhouettes donning visible Air-cushioning in original styles. Additionally, the Swoosh has reimagined popular models like the Air Max 90 through the lens of hiking and sustainability.
Proposed under the “Terrascape” banner, a newly-surfaced pair combines muted “Phantom” with “Vivid Green” and “Olive Aura” tones for a compelling, refreshing take on Tinker Hatfield’s 32-year-old design. Pull tabs at the top of the tongue, wider mesh patterns and canvas profile swooshes inject functionality and durability to the shoe that isn’t present on the standard Air Max 90. Underfoot, the semi-translucent midsole reveals Crater Foam-cushioning, a completely recycled material debuted via the Nike Space Hippie collection; waffle-patterned tread below indulges in Nike Grind material, which also advances the Swoosh’s commitment to sustainability and up-cycled processes.
No firm Nike SNKRS launch details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 4 is set to release in several colorways before 2022 ends.
