Jovani Hernandez Over the last two years, Joe Freshgoods (birth name Joseph Robinson) has become a household name within sneaker collaborations through his work with New Balance. As a follow-up to his “Outside Clothes” campaign from August 2021, the Chicago-native is set to launch the final sneaker drop from his “Inside Voices” collection on Friday, May 20th.
Inspired by “[t]he sights, sounds, and feelings of growing up in the black household,” the apparel and footwear lineup is laden with color combinations, graphics and messaging with cultural relevance for Robinson and those like him. Headlined by two pairs of the New Balance 90/60, a new lifestyle model that features design cues from the brand’s performance product, the “Inside Voices” collaboration released exclusively via select channels on May 13th and 16th, with the “Baby Shower Blue” pair dropping exclusively via Instagram Shop. The “Penny Cookie Pink” option – which derives its name from the Chicagoan-beloved Funsnax Frosted Strawberry Cookies by Mrs. Pure – will see a global launch soon, promising the chunky, extra-cushioned silhouette from JFG and NB to the masses.
