While many of Stussy’s recent footwear collaborations have been centered around heralded classics, they made ample noise in 2020 for bringing back some obscure gems like the Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 and the Air Kukini in a sole-swapped hybrid model. For its next act, they’re sticking to the ambiguous side of things by bringing back the Nike Air Max 2013 and Air Max 2015 of all models.
Based on these first look official images, Stussy brings its hemp-like material to the silhouette, with a netting-like mesh used as the primary layer. The reverse Swoosh logo from the 2015 remains, covered in black and matched with a STUSSY branding hit towards the base of the laces and on the tongue. The model itself is a bit closer to 2013 and like with their Spiridon Cage 2, Stussy completely mattes out the Air unit, covering the traditionally transparent polyurethane.
If previous Stussy Nike collab capsules are any indication, it is likely that at least one other colorway of this Air Max 2015 will release. Additional colorways could either be a simple black/white, or opt for a more dazzling metallic chrome silver. Stay tuned for updates.
In other Nike news, the Air Max Penny is coming back on July 1st.
