Nike Recognizes HBCUs With Upcoming Dunk Low “FAMU”

The Nike Dunk’s original run in the 1980s recognized the best college basketball programs in the nations. St. John’s, Kentucky, Michigan, and others have been immortalized in sneaker culture simply based off the original run of Be True To Your School Dunks, and in 2022 the brand is aiming to bring the same esteem to the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Off the heels of the first look of the Clark College Dunks, we now see FAMU and the their signature bright orange and green adorn the Nike Dunk Low. The rattler mascot is seen on the tongue while its exterior is placed on the outsole, while its founding year of 1887 sits embroidered on the heel. Other affectionate identifiers such as “COLAC” aka College of Love And Charity and “We Bragg Different” are also embroidered on the exterior.

There are likely more schools in this Nike Dunk HBCU Pack, so stay tuned for more to make an appearance.
