Michael Le For their Fall/Winter ’22 show — entitled “Nomad” — COMME des GARÇONS debuted their Nike Air Max 97, which walked down the stage in two understated colorways. And following the appearance of official images back in August, the Japanese label is now preparing for the collaboration’s September 22nd release.
Arriving right in time for the Christian Tresser-designed sneaker’s 25th anniversary, the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Max 97 will be landing in both “Black” and “Glacier Grey.” Though distinct in their respective palettes — which sees the latter pair dressed in a tonally brighter arrangement — both options are identical in their overall construction. Adjacent to the mesh inserts and signature Air cushioned sole unit, a double-layered leather builds out the upper’s various paneling, all of which feature a distressed finish across their surfaces. In regards to branding, CdG opts to print their name only across the sockliner.
