Despite passing away due to brain cancer in September 2020, the New York City-native continues to live on through his legacy as entrepreneur, skater, family and friend. Nike SB has prepped two styles of the ever-popular Dunk Low in honor of the late Los Angeles-resident, which release exclusively at HUF locations in NY, LA and San Francisco on Tuesday, October 18th.
Inspired by Hufnagel’s birth town and adopted hometown, the upcoming pairs feature nods to both the gritty concrete jungle in which Keith fell in love with skateboarding and the sunnier, but raw Bay Area that saw him turn a personal project into a global brand. Handfuls of details were considered for the special sneakers by HUF to release soon, but the most important is the “Keith Forever” embroidered onto each style’s upper heel panel, a decision that further cements Keith Hufnagel’s name in the world of skate, sneakers, fashion and culture-at-large.
The HUF x Nike SB Dunks will first release via HUF NYC, SF and LA on October 18th via raffle. The raffle goes live at 12 p.m. EDT/9 a.m. PDT; to enter, participants must download the Copdate app. Select shops across the U.S. will also stock the commemorative collaboration, although specific details haven’t been disclosed. Furthermore, an international release is planned for November.
