Boasting the next generation of signature athletes and superstar’s outfitted in the Jumpman insignia – headlined by the debut silhouettes of Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson – the Beaverton-based brand announced today its latest signing, #1 overall pick and Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero.
“The opportunity to be a part of the Jordan family means everything to me,” Banchero said. “I grew up wearing Jordans and to now be a part of his brand is really a dream come true.”
Constantly on the attack and proving his ability as a three-level scorer just a few games into preseason action, midrange work, three-point pull ups and exploding down hill have been ever-prominent for the Seattle-native while rocking the Jordan Zion 2, an early sign at the possible silhouette he’ll rock during a season expected to conclude with Rookie of the Year honors.
Since his youth, the former Duke Blue Devil has had Air Jordan 3’s, AJ 4’s and AJ 11’s stocked to the brim, now realizing the dream he held as a kid of having his own shoe deal, Banchero is the first player from the star-studded 2022 Draft Class to announce a sneaker endorsement.
Sitting down with the legend Howard “H” White – Jordan Brand’s VP of Affairs and the man that signed Michael Jordan – in the exact same Hillsboro restaurant that caused “H” to be late to MJ’s pitch meeting, Paolo is welcomed to the family via a Jumpman-branded burger in the spot below. Bringing the legendary story to life with a unique twist, it’s safe to say both “H” and the Beaverton-based brand have big plans for their latest signee.
After dazzling on the court in both Summer League and preseason, expect Banchero to experiment with the full-breadth of Jumpman’s historic archives for both the tunnel and the hardwood, while ushering a new generation of athletes into the trend-setting culture the brand has established over the past few decades.
