Jared Ebanks As the Year of the Rabbit approaches, first looks at The Swooshes observation of Chinese New Year have begun offering up the beginning stages of an ensuing collection, including the recently debuted Nike Dunk High “Lunar New Year”. While the Air Max 90 Futura has reveled in neutral-toned, monochrome schemes, the latest proposition of the silhouette is set to liven its palette through the aforementioned 15-day celebration.
Proffering a much more boisterous ensemble compared to its latter contemporary, a vibrant multi-color aesthetic akin to the festival’s brightly-lit atmosphere enacts across the uppers overlays, tongue and sock liner utilizing swatches of lavender, orange and crimson. Underneath a crisp white base layer contrasts the models cloudy black and grey suede overlay whereas the sampling of titular hues resumes with a watermelon-shaded Swoosh alongside sky blue embellishments outfitting the eye stay flaps, Air Max-housed sole unit and cursive branding adorning the insoles and tongue tabs.
Underfoot, the model concludes with its straightforward use of a white midsole in tandem with a black and turquoise-tipped tread.
