Jared Ebanks While the heralded Nike Cortez wraps up its 50th anniversary with a future-forward collaboration at the hands of Chitose Abe and sacai, the iconic silhouette has been rumored to be cohabitating with another overseas banner as first looks at the widely-anticipated CLOT x Nike Cortez have been revealed via a duo of on-foot looks.
Exploring a trio of colorways for its 2023 release, a recent on-foot peak from CLOT co-founder Edison Chen reveals a noir aesthetic employed via a black/white outfit. A classic white leather upper and tongue construction sets the stage for what initially seems to be a typical composition – accented by a jet-black midfoot Swoosh – before a thick nylon bootie envelops the entirety of the forefoot and back half of the model in a pitch-dark shroud. Allowing its laces, ridged quarter overlay and tongue tabs to remain uncovered, the midfoot Swoosh comes cut in half with the lower portion indulging in a crisp white shade while the outsole explores a dominant white tread affixed with a singular black strip through its midsole.

Updated January 13th, 2023: New photos of the CLOT x Nike Cortez has been revealed by @notvandytho. The shoes are inspired by traditional sneakers worn in kung fu and other Eastern fighting styles and can be worn with or without the exterior slip-on.
