Michael Le The New Balance 550 is not letting itself get left behind in 2022. As soon as the very first week of the new year, the silhouette quickly began unveiling one new colorway after the next. This women’s pair, which layers light purple accents over top shades of grey, is only but one of the latest.
Over time, the 550 has gotten more experimental with its materials. No longer is the shoe crafted solely of leather, which is more than exemplified here, as the construction combines mesh, canvas, and suede. Many of these textures are hued in dark to light greys, while outsole and piping add a bit of that above-mentioned color. White neutrals also help round out the palette, doing so by way of the “N” logo, midsole, and various adjacent details.
