From the Air Jordan 1’s reconfigured tread to the banner’s recent collaborative collection with Eastside Golf, the Beaverton brand continues to dress its hallmark silhouettes in tooling effective for the green. With the Waste Management Open’s final round coinciding with Super Bowl 57, the Swooshes’ latest Nike Air Max 90 G renders a boisterous homage to the state’s desert-like conditions with flaming golf balls and abstract course imagery.
Pairing its crisp white mesh base layer with heavily cracked “Off-White” tinted overlays, the introductory neutral ensemble sets the stage for a bodacious array of design choices. Melted under the blazing Arizona sun, the dripping midfoot Swooshes cast a luminous metallic finish along the shimmering purple and green full-length panel invigorated by vibrant red volcanic cracks. Toning down the upper through “Shadow Grey” quarters and sock liners, a flaming yellow, orange and red Nike golf ball renders amongst the tongue tabs whilst a marbled wash of pink and orange outfits the tread’s exaggerated textured pucks. Indulging in warped imagery reminiscent of a scorching hot Arizona golf course, a mountainous landscape with dried terrain, cactuses, a putting green and golf carts appear along the insoles chosen abstract print.
