Michael Le Air Max Day 2023 is only a little over a week away. And while the Air Max 1 ’86 “Big Bubble” may be the event’s biggest headliner, there are several inline offerings — such as this newly-revealed Air Max 97 — that are equally worth paying attention to.
Deceptively simple at a glance, this Nike Air Max 97 begins with an understated color palette. Alongside painting the midsole, “White” dresses many of the interior fixtures, like the underlying mesh, lace unit, and midsole. The rest of the upper, from the leather mudguard to the embroidered branding, opts for “Sail,” further contrasting the blacks across the lining, bottom, and heel pull. And upon even closer inspection, one will notice the construction’s use of somewhat opaque, translucent TPU, which is overlaid across the silhouette’s top half.
