Aimé Leon Dore Gives The New Balance 1906R A Green Update

Aimé Leon Dore Gives The New Balance 1906R A Green Update

Teddy Santis and Aimé Leon Dore have left a mark on men’s fashion and sneakers in just a handful of years. As creative director of New Balance‘s Made in USA branch, the Queens-native has helped reenergize several heritage models, while helping debut new ones.

The New Balance 1906R isn’t entirely new, but Santis’ co-sign has been well-received. The silhouette – which borrows the NB 860v2’s sole unit – sees its first makeover from the downtown New York City institution. Akin to previously seen ALD x NB 860v2’s, Santis and team’s NB 1906R features an understated mesh base. Panels overlaid across the forefoot, along the mid-foot, and around the heel favor rich green and silver tones. Gold accents also animate the retro runner-inspired design, notably landing at the sidewalls’ “N” logos. Underfoot, the sneaker enjoys a greyscale and green color scheme. Cushioning details at the forefoot and heel revel in shades of green, rounding out Aimé Leon Dore’s “dad shoe.”

Enjoy early looks at the pair ahead, while you wait for official details from Santis and team throughout April.
