Jovani Hernandez Teddy Santis’ Aimé Leon Dore continues to mark its presence on fashion across the globe. As part of its Spring 2023 collection, the New York City-based team has unveiled another New Balance 550, with the pairs covered in “Taupe” and “Brown” hairy suede.
Unlike past versions of the design by Steven Smith, the upcoming NB 550 offerings trade perforated leather for fabric uppers. Breathable textile lays underneath, staying true to the 34-year-old blueprint. The two new styles would fit right in with any Fall/Winter 2023 capsule, but Santis and company have displayed an affinity for darker-colored footwear in the warmer months. Elsewhere, co-branding lands on the tongue labels, sockliners, and spine, as well as on the shoeboxes. Sole units don an off white finish that plays into the New Balance shoes’ vintage appeal. All together, the latest NB 550’s by ALD update a ubiquitous design enough to still feel fresh.
