Three years into the New Balance 550 revival, and the classic hoops silhouette is still going strong thanks to the brand’s exploration of unprecedented materials.

Typically, the New Balance 550 is presented in leather uppers, occasionally dipping into suede for that retro lifestyle look. Now, the NB label adds a hemp material, providing even more of a street-ready aesthetic to the already- popular model. Featuring a full black hemp upper, this upcoming drop sees white contrast 550 labeling on the forefoot, while a solid light grey outsole sits beneath.

This latest New Balance 550 release is confirmed to release on June 1st on newbalance.com and partnering retailers for $120. Additionally, the “White Hemp” New Balance 550 is also launching on the same date; these two seem to mimic Stussy’s penchant for cream shades and black on this rough material

In other New Balance news, the Bodega New Balance 610 is set to drop on June 9th.
