Ronnie Fieg and Marvel are certainly no strangers, previously working together to honor six decades of Spider-Man. And following said collection’s success, the two are reuniting to celebrate yet another big milestone: the 60th Anniversary of X-Men.
In addition to a series of accessories as well as apparel, KITH and X-Men have joined forces on seven different versions of the ASICS GEL-LYTE III. Complete with recreations of the 1992 Uncanny X-Men Series 1 Trading Cards — one of the most celebrated series in the publisher’s history — the shoes draw inspiration from six of the franchise’s most iconic mutants: Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Rogue, Storm, and Wolverine. Unlike the other characters, which have received only one colorway, Wolverine’s suit from 1975 and 1980 are honored individually.
What’s more, the packaging borrows cues from trading cards, with each pair concealed in collectible boxes and mylar bags. This means that you won’t know exactly what colorway you’ve received until they’re unboxed, further simulating the experiences of avid collectors.
Following an early launch at San Diego Comic-Con, the entire X-Men x KITH collection will be available at all KITH shops and online on July 28th. Enjoy a close-up look at each X-Men x KITH x ASICS GEL-LYTE III colorway ahead.
