Sneaker News Sean McDowell’s Nike Air Max Plus has stood the test of time, bringing smiles to the faces of Air Max fans for twenty five years. Although it doesn’t seem like a 25th Anniversary surprise is coming for the Tuned Air classic, Nike is still pumping out GR after GR to the approval of many.
Only a small handful of original colorways of the Air Max Plus exist, so much of the shoe’s legacy relies on the core design. The lava-lamp inspired upper, the full-length visible Air unit, and the utilization of the Tuned Air cushioning unit combine to form one of the most impressive Nike running shoe designs in history. Not quite on the Air Max 95’s level, but the Air Max Plus resides in that upper tier just under it.
