Jovani Hernandez In early 2021, The Simpsons and adidas began a partnership that’s brought some of the series’ most beloved characters and references to sneaker form. Soon, Homer Simpson joins the mix in the form of a Stan Smith.
First teased in late October 2022, the “Homer Simpson” adidas Stan Smith brings a long-running meme to the sneaker space. As seen in “Homer Loves Flanders” (Season 5, Episode 16), the series’ main character creeps back into the bushes after getting rejected by his pharmacist neighbor à la T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The upper heel faithfully recreates the 29-year-old scene by depicting a deadpan Homer Simpson partly-covered by bush-reminiscent chenille. The Springfield-resident also replaces Stan Smith on the tongues, lending his name on the lateral sides as well. An “aged” sole unit rounds out the shoe, which comes packaged in a special co-branded green box.
