Overshadowed by its Tuned Air kin, the Nike Air Max Plus III (3) seems prepared to step into the spotlight, even if momentarily.
As the Air Max Plus‘ 25th anniversary celebration ramps up, the second follow-up Sean McDowell’s design from 1998 has recently appeared in a metallic silver, black, and yellow color scheme. Inherently bold, the sneaker dons a shimmering, futuristic finish across the textile upper. The series of lines found on the model’s top-half includes detailing around the heel, which take on vibrant yellow flair; the sun-reminiscent hue also animates swooshes, lace loops along the tongue, and traditional “Tn Air” badges.
The Tuned Air sole unit underfoot delivers the biggest update from the original Air Max Plus. Exaggerated propositions take McDowell’s design from its performance origins to the lifestyle space, doubling down on the line’s street appeal. A predominantly black look covers the midsole and waffle-patterned outsole, but hits of yellow keep things fresh across the Air Max-offshoot’s bottom-half.
No firm nike.com launch details have been announced by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the Air Max Plus 3 ahead.
For more from the Nike, Inc. empire, the “Cherry” 12s worn during Michael Jordan’s fifth NBA title run are set to return on October 28th.
