Nike’s Air Max 90 continues to appear in new compelling styles 33 years after its debut.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the sneaker features TPU components across its upper and sole unit, a departure from its two predecessors. The plastic piece, however, has allowed the Swoosh to tinker (pun intended) around with color-blocking, which brings a fall-friendly style to the latest Air Max 90. White-colored leather and nylon make up the bulk of the pair’s upper, creating a “blank” canvas for a number of contrasting tones throughout the build. Profile swooshes and mudguards deviate in a suede material, but the latter components favor a “Medium Olive” hue perfect for the season. TPU laceguards near the vamp indulge in a similar tone, while the piece near the top of the tongue reverts to a cream color.
Underfoot, iconic sole units keep things on-brand with the remainder of the arrangement. Foam midsoles and their Air Max bubble heavily favor a beige hue that complements the upper well. Waffle-patterned traction zones, however, interrupt the “Khaki” hue with “Medium Olive” contrast. The muted green tone has historically formed part of Nike Sportswear collection for fall, so the latest Air Max 90 carries on tradition.
Enjoy official photos of the fall-ready pair ahead, and expect a nike.com launch before 2023 ends.
