The New Balance 1906F is the latest offering from the brand’s roster of retro runners. While familiar, the sneaker’s most recent iteration further distances the retro performance model from its sports origins.
Offered in lifestyle-friendly “Slate Grey,” “Timber Wolf,” and “Dark Moss” color schemes, the sneaker resembles the popular New Balance 1906R, a sneaker from decades ago that was revived two years ago. Mesh, leather, and suede divvy up real estate across the upper, with the most breathable material of the bunch opting for a much tighter layout than on standard versions of New Balance’s sneaker. The muted-colored arrangements fall in line with the products offered by the brand’s Tokyo Design Studio, especially when considering the NB 1906F’s most notable difference: the leather component around the heel.
While mostly an aesthetic update, the heel counter follows performance guidelines. Elsewhere, N-lock technology and ABZORB SBS-assisted cushioning across the midsole deviate in similarly soft browns and off white tones. Tongue labels also indulge in an elevated and refined leather update, further blurring the line between sport and fashion. Each offering boasts Stability Web technology at the outsoles, a component directly borrowed from the New Balance 860v2.
Enjoy official photos of each style ahead. The NB 1906F trio is now available via newbalance.com for an MSRP of $150 USD (Cyber Monday sales bring down the price to $110, however).
