Over 1,000 Swarovski Crystals Transform The All-New Converse Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared

Lately, the fashion scene has witnessed the birth of the Chuck 70 De Luxe Squared, a reimagined version of the Converse classic that elevates the sneaker into a platform style with a squared toe akin to Rick Owens’ TURBODRK Converse Chuck 70. Now, the American sportswear icon partners with Austrian crystal experts Swarovski, renowned for their dazzling work on a variety of Nike releases from Cactus Plant Flea Market Dunks to Serena Williams’ Player Exclusives, to add their distinctive flair on this style-forward design.

The De Luxe Squared makes its grand entrance into the market with with over a thousand Swarovski crystals meticulously placed onto the upper. Reminiscent of Christian Louboutin’s execution of their mid-cut sneaker in the 2010s, this studded Chuck 70 laughs in the face of subtlety, opting for a garish aesthetic that once defined the fashion sneaker movement.

The “Squared” concept is most evident in the toe cap and midsole. Here, the shoe’s traditionally rounded toe is reworked with sharper lines a la the aforementioned TURBODRK series by Rick Owens . In a departure from the classic Chuck Taylor design, the toe cap and midsole are fused into a single piece of rubber, creating a sleek, unified appearance.

As expected, this upcoming collaboration comes with a high price tag; you can mark your calendars for the official release on February 1st with a retail price of $300.
