Original article posted February 12th: The Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023 serves as the newest in the lightweight line that now stretches back more than a decade. Tapping into that long lineage, the “Oreo” Vapormax Flyknit 2023 leans on a well established framing while making slight tweaks to the formula.
It’s arguably the signature colorway for the Vapormax line, and zooming out, each model with Flyknit technology. Famously, the black and white formulation was the choice for the debut of the Nike Flyknit Racer, a once-inescapable streetwear staple. Similar shadings have hit each successive edition since then. That means that this Vapormax 2023 in question was really just a matter of time. Still, even within these monochromatic boundaries, there’s room to experiment. Most obvious, the tongue and sole are decked out in pure white, a contrast to the transparent sole of the corresponding Vapormax Flyknit 3s and the black tongue of the 2021s.
