The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Gives Giannis His Flowers

The blossoming colorway drops April 1st.

The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Gives Giannis His Flowers

The Milwaukee Bucks have hit their stride as of late, recapturing the second seed in the East as they eye a second NBA championship in their current iteration. As always, the team continues to be propelled by typically stellar play by Giannis Antetokounmpo, and it’s an opportune time to recognize his achievements via the latest Nike Zoom Freak 5.

The tropical floral pattern on the side panelling is the biggest addition, dressing the shoe with three vibrant pieces of flora. The Nike Basketball line as a whole is no stranger to this sort of theme, but it draws an easy comparison to the similar quilted pattern that donned the Nike KD 16 “Aunt Pearl.” However, the allusions don’t stop there, as the entirety of the shoe stays consistent with that natural, lively motif. The liner appears draped in seafoam, the medial Swoosh and lace stays share rosy pink and the outsole mirrors the blue from the foregrounded section.

All told, while there’s some weighty floral connections in Giannis’ canon, it seems more likely that this is a way to add some springtime energy to his signature rather than a sentimental allusion. This Nike Zoom Freak 5 drops April 1st with an MSRP of $140.

Elsewhere in the basketball shoes world, the ANTA KAI 1 is re-releasing to celebrate Kyrie’s birthday on March 23rd.
