The adidas A3 Megaride Is Back For Its 20th Anniversary

Another Y2K runner returns to market.

The adidas A3 Megaride Is Back For Its 20th Anniversary

The list of Y2K tech-runners tapped for modern revivals is set to expand soon. In celebration of the model’s 20th anniversary, we’re learning of adidas’ plans to resurrect 2004’s A3 Megaride throughout the course of 2024, starting with a “Grey/Gold Metallic/Silver” colorway that speaks to the shoe’s earliest makeups.

The A3 Megaride’s defining feature is its bounce-equipped sole, not a far cry from the underfoot tooling of Reebok Zig shoes and several models by market newcomer On Running. At the time of its release, the Megaride stood out as the pinnacle of adidas running tech. It doesn’t measure up to performance-focused runners nowadays, but fits well alongside other trending retro models called upon for lifestyle wear, much like the adiStar Raven 3.

“Gold Metallic” floods the sole of this pair, while the base relies on a liberal use of grey mesh. The shoe’s wrap-around mudguard and tongue add more Y2K flair through reflective “Silver” treatments, while tinted TPU stripes cover both areas of the upper. Circular “a” branding on the tongue speaks to the model and adidas insignias all the same, and an EQT logo appears on the heel over an oval-shaped backdrop.

Expect these to hit shelves in May as sneakerheads keep curating their summertime rotations. Tap our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates while we hunt down more firm information.
