Thanks to current fashion trends, the footwear market has never been more diverse, particularly when it comes to the abundance of loafers, mules, and other slip-on silhouettes. Taking aim at that realm, PUMA and Spanish fashion label Palomo are set to drop what’s maybe one of the best sneaker-turned-loafers in recent memory, joining forces on an offshoot of PUMA’s Nitefox silhouette.
The Nitefox itself speaks to “gorpcore” aesthetics with a chunky rubber sole, and that’s pretty much all that’s left on this collaborative loafer version. The upper is completely reimagined in the shape of a loafer, dressed entirely in “Frosted Ivory” leather. In lockstep with Palomo’s elevated design ethos, leather tassels and a metal buckle featuring co-branded logos decorate the tongue.
Palomo and PUMA’s collaborative catalog dates back years, so it’s possible we could see more Nitefox Loafer colorways surface in the near future, perhaps as mainline releases as looks to be the case with the New Balance 1906L debuted by Junya Watanabe.
Mark your calendar for the shoe’s release at midnight on May 11th for $180 via PUMA; see our “Where To Buy Section” just ahead for direct purchase links on that date. Steering focus to another new inventive PUMA silhouette, take a look at the Skepta x Puma “Forever” dropping mid-May.
