Matt Varga Kith x adidas has become one of the more reliable relationships in both brand’s arsenals, the German and NYC imprints joining forces each successive season for tonal takes on Three Stripes staples. Just a few months after their Spring 2024 offerings, the two are reuniting for their largest and most vibrant collection yet, Kith x adidas Originals Classics Summer 2024.
Their shared backlog is rife with tone-on-white colorways, meaning that the pastel applications on feature here is a pretty stark divergence. A few pairs, like the lavender adidas Samba, goldenrod AS30 and grey Indoor Super only depart slightly, tinting nubuck uppers slightly to impart a summertime atmosphere. Each shoe in the other half gets some form of gum sole, matched by deep contrast hues up top. The Handball Top in particular embraces an earthy palette in stunning fashion, baby pink accents presenting a slight gradient across the Three Stripes branding on the medial and lateral sides. Of course, co-branded detailing unites the whole collection, with gold Kith Classics text landing in some shape or form on every shoe.
As a quick note, the inclusion of the adidas AS350 is notable here. It’s the second time that KITH has taken to the silhouette, soft launching it in their latest “8th St.” offering. Originally a 1970s Japanese exclusive silhouette, the AS350 has only been offered thru KITH link-ups so far, but this possibly hints towards a mainline revitalization in the near future.
The full Kith x adidas Originals Summer 2024 collection will be available May 13th, releasing via all Kith channels (app, website, in-store.)
