Asphaltgold And PUMA Continue Their Palermo Story With “Sedia”

Asphaltgold is following the release of their collaborative Puma Palermo “Scopa” with a new pair centered around the theme of Italian hospitality. While the duo’s first effort shines light on a popular Italian card game, this new “Sedia” colorway odes to the environment it’s often played in. Or better yet, played on.

The word “Sedia” means “chair” in English, a seemingly vague description that holds relevant ties to the Italian mentality. Italians might recognize the line “Aggiungi un posto a tavola, che c’è un amico in più” from a popular kids song from the 1970s, which translates roughly to “Add a place at the table, there’s an extra friend coming.” Fittingly, those same lyrics appear hidden under the semi-detached tabs that adorn the lateral sides of the shoe.

Aesthetically speaking, the rest of the design is informed by the look of plastic monoblock chairs, often where lifelong memories with family and friends are made during unassuming, casual hangouts. A debossed chair graphic adorns the tongue, while all the overlays wear ribbed suede so as to mimic the pattern of common monoblock seats. More tie-ins appear inside, as the insoles boast a co-branded Asphaltgold x Puma tag with red garden chair graphics underneath. Otherwise, a white canvas base, brown leather Formstrip, green sock liner, and gum sole define the rest of the shoe.

The Asphaltgold x Puma Palermo “Sedia” drops June 8th, 2024 exclusively via asphaltgold.com, the Asphaltgold App, and select brand storefronts. Enjoy detailed images ahead and turn to our “Where To Buy” section for direct purchase links upon the shoe’s eventual release.
