Matt Varga As the Opening Ceremony draws closer, the full range of Nike’s offerings in accordance with the international occasion is coming clearer and clearer into focus. What feels like every model in their current roster has already iterated on the global event, from the Nike KD 17 to the Air Jordan 4 to not one but two Air Jordan 6 releases (Jordan 6 “Olympic” and Jordan 6 “Paris Olympics.”) Clearly, they’ve still got a couple surprises in store, and the latest silo to get in on the action is the Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2023.
First marking the Nike SB Dunk Low “Olympic,” Safari continues to be the dominant design across all of the Swoosh’s paris offerings. Rather than going the orthodox route and planting it on the upper, designers reserved the speckled print for the VaporMax cushioning underfoot. Combining that with the overriding black & white tonality makes for a surprisingly reserved colorway, something you certainly can’t say about many of its partners in the Olympics collection.
