We’re officially in the Dame 9 era. After revisiting the BAPE partnership that brought Lillard’s line easily its most coveted pairs, the “Playoffs” colorway brings the silo to market in mainline fashion in very short order. As we shift our attention to a season filled with new looks for #0’s latest, the second step is coming into clear view. adidas just delivered official on-foot looks at the “Solar Red” colorway coming to stores this October.

As seen worn by Lillard himself in some glossy on-foot shots, the latest edition of the Dame 9 relies on a venerable footwear formula, blending together black & red on its sleek overall shape. The outer shell spotlights the titular shade, but arguably the interior section is the biggest draw here. The inner bootie design is far and away the biggest innovation here, bringing tight lockdown & stability to support Lillard’s shifty, explosive playstyle. Of course, the rest of the shoe doesn’t skimp on toolsy features; a full-length Torsion bar and Lightstrike midsole combine for lateral support, cushioning and propulsion along the way.
