Original article published September 17th, 2024: Fans of the Air Max Plus have been eating all throughout 2024, shelves stocked to the brim with a heavy dose of GR colorways as the silo celebrates 25 years. In the past few weeks, a new batch of looks have emerged as we turn our calendars towards Fall/Winter, and the latest “Wolf Grey/Picante Red” colorway has a claim to being the best of that crop.

While gradients are an omnipresent design choice across the Tn catalog, this edition does a particularly good job with its greyscale take on it, creating a ton of depth with the light/dark split from the front to the back. An injection of “Picante Red” on the midfoot mini-Swoosh and in the air bubbles interrupts that solemn look. Finally, a keen eye reveals a slight bit of durability with this colorway in particular, swapping out traditional reflective foxing for a more utilitarian nylon counterpart here.

It’s worth noting how this version of the Air Max Plus bears a lot of resemblance to the “Volt” edition announced very recently. Though the choice of accent shade and the contrast sole underfoot make this a distinct pair, it’s impossible to deny these two designs as being of a kind with one another.

Look out for the Nike Air Max Plus “Wolf Grey” hitting Nike.com and retail shelves in the coming weeks, carrying a $170 MSRP.
