Matt Varga The heavy F/W push for the Air Max Plus continues. On top of remodels like the Air Max Plus Utility and Air Max Plus Drift, the silo’s 25th anniversary has brought plenty of tinkering with mainline releases, from unexplored color combinations to reimaginings of the silhouette’s base hardware. Last explored with the Air Max Plus “Black Tea,” the all-leather Tn makes a triumphant return with this “Black/University Red” edition.
Building on the nocturnal foundation of that preceding proposition, this pair turns the lights down even further for a jet black, tumbled leather base. That change is matched by a more receded set of “palm tree” waves across it, emphasizing the new matte formulation with flush hardware. Elsewise, the construction touches that continues to make the AMP a fan favorite remain. To that end, the sunny Tn branding at the heel matched by a gilded Swoosh on the tongue, a premium embellishment on top of the reliable “Bred” colorway that carries this release.
Look for the Nike Air Max Plus at retailers and Nike channels this Holiday season; if the “Black Tea” release is any indication, a SNKRS release and $190 retail may be on tap.
